Method to prevent powder leakage from cement screw conveyor
Cement is a common building material, and the cement screw conveyor is a conveying machine designed specifically for cement conveying.
Spiral conveyors are suitable for conveying powdery, granular, and small materials such as cement, coal powder, grains, fertilizers, ash, sand, coke, etc.
When using a screw conveyor, there may be material leakage due to poor sealing at both ends of the bearings. We analyze the reasons for the loose spiral seal in several aspects:
1. The length of the screw feeder is too long, and there is also uneven feeding, causing the shaft head to swing, leading to severe wear and tear;

2. The unreasonable design of the shaft head bearing resulted in the failure of the sealing components.
3. The material is corrosive, and failure to dispose of it in a timely manner can cause corrosion of the seals, shaft heads, and inner rings of bearing holes, leading to seal failure. It affects the operating condition of the screw conveyor, machine maintenance, and bearing life.
Due to the fine powder shape of cement and its high flow rate with a certain degree of fluidity, the sealing of the head shaft end gland of the conveyor is not tight, resulting in many coal powder leaks. But the conveyor effect is not ideal. Every day, a lot of coal powder still leaks out around the conveyor, affecting production. We have prepared methods to prevent powder leakage from the cement conveyor.
1. Add lubricating grease once to the screw conveyor, otherwise there will still be leakage of coal powder after it dries up.
2. After each assembly and disassembly, it is necessary to tighten the gland for maintenance after running for about a month. The shaft and packing should be carefully inspected to ensure that the packing fits tightly with the shaft.
Cement screw conveyors are usually used in large cement plants, mixing plants, and some concrete batching plants. Dry cement can be transported using ordinary screw conveyors, while wet cement needs to be transported using cement screw conveyors due to its high viscosity and easy agglomeration.
