The screw conveyor (LS screw conveyor, twisted dragon screw conveyor, and tubular screw conveyor) usually consists of three parts: the screw conveyor body, inlet and outlet devices, and driving devices. The main body of the screw machine consists of three parts: the head section, the middle section, and the tail section.
1.
Spirochete
The
screw conveyor consists of two parts: a screw blade and a screw shaft. There are two commonly used forms of blades: full face (solid) and belt. According to the different winding directions of the blades on the shaft, they can be divided into two types: right-handed and left-handed (counterclockwise winding is left-handed, while clockwise winding is right-handed). The direction of material conveying by the spiral body is determined by the direction of blade rotation and the direction of shaft rotation. When determining the specific direction, first determine the direction of blade rotation, and then follow the principle of using the right hand for left rotation and the left hand for right rotation. The bending direction of the four fingers is the direction of shaft rotation, and the straight direction of the thumb is the direction of material conveying.
2.
Bearings
There are head bearings, tail bearings, and intermediate bearings according to their installation positions and functions. The head bearing mainly consists of a radial thrust bearing, a bearing seat, a bearing cover, an oil ring, and other parts. It is installed at the discharge end of the head and bears radial and axial forces. Therefore, the bearing should use a radial thrust bearing; The tail bearing is installed at the feeding end of the tail and only bears radial force. It adopts a centripetal spherical bearing with a relatively simple structure. For screw conveyors with a screw shaft of more than 3 meters, in order to avoid bending of the screw shaft, an intermediate bearing should be installed. The intermediate bearing is generally a suspended structure, and its lateral size should be as small as possible to avoid material blockage.
3.
Material trough.
The material trough of LS
screw feeder is usually made of 2-4mm thick thin steel plate. The walls on both sides of the cross-section are vertical, and the bottom is semi circular. The end of each section of the material groove and the upper end of the side wall are reinforced with angle steel to ensure the rigidity of the material groove and achieve the connection between the sections, as well as the top cover plate and the material groove. The bottom of the material groove should be equipped with support feet for cast iron or angle steel welded parts. The inner diameter of the bottom semicircle should be 4-8mm larger than the diameter of the spiral blade. The cross-section of the vertical fast screw conveyor trough is circular, usually made of thin-walled seamless steel pipes.
In general, during the final assembly at the factory, the middle sections of the screw conveyor are arranged in order of length. The longest middle section is close to the head section, and the same length middle sections are placed together. If there are special requirements, the arrangement order is given when ordering. There are thrust bearings installed in the head section of the screw conveyor to withstand axial force, and bearings installed in the middle and tail sections to support the screw shaft. In addition, there are radial bearings that can move axially in the tail section of the screw conveyor to compensate for errors in the length of the screw shaft and adapt to temperature changes.
There are two types of spiral surfaces for screw conveyors (LS screw conveyor, twisted dragon screw conveyor): solid screw (S system method) and belt screw (D system method). The flange type connection is used between each spiral shaft, ensuring the interchangeability of the connecting shaft and facilitating maintenance. The cover of the screw conveyor is tiled and clamped onto the casing with a cover buckle. If the sealing performance needs to be improved, users can add waterproof canvas between the cover and the casing themselves. There are four types of feeding and discharging devices for screw conveyors: feeding ports, square discharge ports, manual discharge ports, and rack and pinion discharge ports.
